I tried the solution recommended above, but when you add the extension Chameleon to Chrome, then go to add the savefrom.net extension, it says it ONLY for the "Opera" browser. I tried multiple times to download the Opera browser (it downloads and opens, but crashes every time).
Besides which, I'm addingthis extension to CHROME. You don't have something that works for Chrome?
So this is a non-solution "solution," unfortunately. I have AVG Professional and it blocks my running your regular savefrom.net helper. I can download it, but it comes up as a "high threat" and is disabled by AVG when I try to run it.
